Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Induction Programme
This programme supports your daily practice and promotes networking within your region. Experienced colleagues will facilitate your professional development and discuss strategies relevant to your classroom practice.
All NQTs will have access to the DFE Early Career Framework through our partner provider Teachfirst.
We will work closely with your mentors to ensure the programme has maximum impact in the classroom.
OVERVIEW OF SESSIONS:
WELCOME CONFERENCE: 24th Sept ‘20
A half day conference introducing NQTs to TKAT. Includes a welcome from CEO Dr. Karen Roberts.
Regional Networking Day 1
An opportunity to meet other local TKAT NQTs and share experiences. This session will focus on wellbeing.
NQT CONFERENCE: 25th Feb ‘21
A full day conference with a variety of workshops.
Regional Networking Day 2:
An opportunity to reflect on, evaluate and celebrate the achievements of the NQT year, whilst looking at RQT pathways based on career aspirations.
DFE EARLY CAREER FRAMEWORK
In partnership with Teachfirst
Rooted in expertise and research, the programme consists of 6 modules:
- Creating powerful learning environments
- How pupils learn
- How to plan and teach lessons
- Supporting every pupil to succeed
- Assessment and feedback
- Planning a coherent curriculum
Each module includes self-directed study materials, online training sessions and access to coaching sessions.
