We are part of the Ambition NPQ Alliance, delivering National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) in partnership with Ambition Institute, the graduate school for teachers, school leaders and system leaders.

We design, manage and deliver a bespoke NPQML offer around the core NPQ curricula, content and resources that Ambition Institute provides. Ambition Institute also provides facilitator training and quality assurance to help us deliver the best possible development to participants. Ambition Institute, as the accredited licence holder, is also responsible for the assessment of all NPQ submissions.

You can find out more about Ambition Institute, the Alliance and its outcomes by visiting their website.

We work closely with Ambition Institute to ensure our offer meets
all the requirements and metrics as set out by the Department for Education in the NPQ Quality Framework and the NPQ Content and Assessment Framework.

This programme is designed to increase the confidence, capability and impact of aspiring and serving middle leaders.

The course will empower participants to proactively develop a strong network to support them in their first steps in leadership.

Participants will be assessed through a written assignment to ensure that they have reached the qualification requirements plus a viva interview to assess them against the more challenging Ambition bar.

The course will have six areas of focus:

  • Strategy and improvement
  • Teaching and curriculum excellence
  • Leading with impact
  • Working in partnership
  • Managing resources
  • Risks and increasing capability

Workshops will include a mixture of theoretical input and also case studies and interactive discussion amongst the group. Delegates will be directed to a bank of online resources that will supplement and enhance learning in preparation for the written assessment.

Participants are required to lead an improvement project in their team, lasting at least two terms, aimed at improving pupil progress and attainment and the capability of their team

This programme is ideal for:

Those currently in middle leadership roles, or teachers who are:

  • Likely to be in a middle leadership role in the next 12-18 months
  • Have completed at least one year of full-time teaching

Duration and location:

This programme is usually delivered over 6 x half-day sessions over the course of a school year. It can be delivered centrally or regionally, dependent on cohort sizes.
