Following over 20 years working in finance, Steve decided upon a career change. He joined TKAT in 2015 to support the Group Director of Learning, lead school headteacher, and strategic partners in providing leadership, and development/growth to the Teaching School Alliance and wider partnerships.
In addition to this he supports the Group Director of Learning and teaching school headteacher in the maintenance, and development of the Teaching School Alliance wider network through all methods of communication.
Laura has successfully facilitated outstanding & improving teacher programmes in East Sussex across primary & secondary phases. She has supported a school to effectively set up the programme. Laura is a trained coach with many years’ experience as a professional tutor working with a range of ITT providers & appropriate bodies. She has line managed Science departments through change and rapid improvement.
Laura is passionate about high quality teaching and learning and ensuring all children have the best educational experience possible. As Deputy Director of Learning, Laura works within the Teaching School Alliance with a responsibility for professional development and leadership development across the secondary phase.
Ella has been teaching for over 15 years and has worked in a variety of Primary Schools across East Sussex, before becoming Deputy Director of Learning at TKAT in 2016. She has held a variety of senior leadership roles including Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher. She has also supported many schools in a consultancy capacity including middle leadership development, assessment and maths support.

Rachel has been teaching for nearly 20 years and has been on the Senior Leadership Team in three different secondary schools in both Birmingham and East Sussex, prior to joining TKAT as Director of Learning in 2014.
Rachel is passionate about closing the gap for disadvantaged children and ensuring they have equal opportunities and life chances. In her role as Director or Learning, Rachel is responsible for the Teaching School offer including the professional learning and development strategy across TKAT for all – from support staff and TAs to trainee teachers to senior leaders and headteachers. This is a vital role in supporting schools to improve in their journeys towards outstanding, and thereby achieving TKAT’s vision of ‘Inspiring Learners, Changing Lives’
