Summary of Researchers in Schools Programme:
In collaboration with our colleagues at award winning education charity The Brilliant Club, we are pleased to offer placements for PhD graduates on the Researchers in Schools (RIS) programme.
RIS is a unique three-year teacher development programme specifically designed for postdoctoral researchers. As well as school-based training to become a qualified teacher, you’ll receive ongoing professional development to help you make the most of your research expertise in the classroom.
By delivering Uni Pathways, a targeted university access intervention, you’ll use your subject knowledge and experience of higher education to help pupils develop the skills and confidence to progress to highly selective universities.
In the third year of the programme, you’ll continue to develop your teaching skills and complete the Research Leader in Education Award. This innovative professional qualification allows you to develop education-focused research skills and offers an excellent route for career progression.
As a RIS participants, you’ll get one day a week of protected time to pursue the aims of the programme. You’ll also receive honorary academic status at a research-intensive university and join a community of researchers in schools across the country.
Applicants must apply to the RIS programme directly at: http://www.researchersinschools.org/info-for-researchers/apply/
